Rockhal Spatial Brand Guidelines

For Rockhal, Luxembourg’s largest music venue, we developed a spatial framework to guide upcoming transformations at their site in Belval.

Following a recent visual rebrand, the challenge was to translate the new identity into physical space. The redesign of the first-floor bar was already underway, when we were brought in to establish spatial guidelines that could align both current and future projects – which ultimately meant revisiting the initial bar design.

The goal was coherence. Materials, colours, lighting, furniture, and brand presence needed to work together rather than compete. We defined how the brand communicates throughout the building, how its intensity shifts between zones, and how transitions influence perception.

The result is a practical framework that supports consistent decisions across projects and teams, as Rockhal continues to evolve.

A process that creates clarity

Spatial branding works best when it starts early – before expensive decisions settle in.
We define what a brand needs to communicate in space, how visible it should be in different areas, and how its expression shifts depending on use.
From there, we develop clear guidelines that help clients, designers, and contractors move in the same direction – keeping the brand consistent as the space takes shape.
